On December 12th, during the visit to China by Mr. Lenin Moreno Garces, the President of Ecuador, Yankuang Group, China University of Mining and Technology(CUMT) and Ecuador Chimborazo University of Technology and Engineering(ESPOCH) executed cooperation framework agreements in Beijing to jointly establish Yankuang College in ESPOCH.
Mr. Li Wei, the General Manager of Yankuang Group, said that with the support of the government of Ecuador, the Ecuador national mining company and the CUMT, Yankuang obtained non-ferrous metal mining rights of 520 square kilometers green land with the model of “exchange technology for mineral rights”, and promoted Chinese standards and technologies to South America. The cooperation in running schools will strengthen cooperation between China and Ecuador in areas such as energy development, intelligent mining and talent training. Yankuang will give full play to its industrial and technological advantages and cooperate with ESPOCH to promote the mining development, talent training and economic development of Ecuador.
Carlos Perez, the Minister of Energy and Non-renewable Resources Department of Ecuador, said President Moreno attached great importance to the cooperation in running schools and believed it will play a very good role in Ecuadorian mining development and talent training in the future.
ESPOCH is rated among the top three Ecuadorian universities of science and technology, has rich experience in geology and mining and cooperation with China in running schools.
